This is an independent informational guide, not affiliated with Tim Hortons. Prices are typical ranges and vary by location and province. Tax is excluded and delivery app prices differ. Check the official Tim Hortons menu or app before ordering.
Figures last checked: October 2026. Nutrition values below come from the same cross-checked published listings as the prices on this site. They are rounded, they assume the standard build, and your drink will differ if you change the milk, the sweetness or the size. For an allergy decision, skip to the allergens section: this page is a guide, not the authority.
The caffeine question, answered straight
Tim Hortons does not publish caffeine figures. Not on its site, not in its listings, nowhere official. Every caffeine number you have ever seen for a Tim Hortons coffee is a third-party estimate, and the estimates disagree with each other by wide margins, sometimes by more than 100 milligrams for the same cup. That is why the coffee pages on this site print no caffeine column as fact, and why this page will not either.
What can honestly be said: the most consistent estimate across sources is for espresso, at roughly 120 milligrams per shot, which is why latte and cappuccino figures built on shot counts are the least unreliable of the estimates. Brewed coffee estimates run higher per cup and vary the most. Tea carries less than coffee, decaf carries a small amount rather than none, and the bottled milks and juices carry none at all. Health Canada’s guidance, quoted in one of the listings, caps children’s caffeine at 2.5 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. If caffeine matters to you for health reasons, treat every number online, ours included, as an estimate and ask a professional.
Sugar in the popular drinks
| Drink | Size | Sugar |
|---|---|---|
| Original Iced Capp | Small | 38 g |
| Original Iced Capp | Medium | 49 g |
| Original Iced Capp | Large | 64 g |
| Double Double | Small | 16 g |
| Double Double | Medium | 21 g |
| Double Double | Large | 27 g |
| Latte (sugar from the milk) | Medium | 13 g |
This table was tightened in October 2026, and it is shorter than the version it replaces, on purpose. Two drinks that used to appear here, the sweetened iced coffee and the Vanilla Cream Cold Brew, have been removed: rechecking the sources found that no current listing publishes sugar grams for either, only calories. What remains is what can be verified. The Iced Capp figures come from the drink listings themselves. The Double Double ladder comes from the official guide figures one listing reproduces, set out in full on the Double Double page. The latte figure is the medium row of the fullest nutrition table, and its sugar is the natural sugar in the milk.
The pattern the verified figures show is still the useful one. The blended frozen drinks carry dessert levels of sugar at every size. A sweetened coffee’s sugar scales with the cup, because the two sugars in a Double Double are bigger in a bigger cup. And the zero end is real: a black coffee or a black iced coffee has no sugar at all, which makes the sweetened-versus-black choice the single biggest lever on this page.
The lightest orders on the menu
| Drink | Size | Calories |
|---|---|---|
| Cold Brew, unsweetened | Any size | 0–5 |
| Iced Coffee, black | Any size | 0 |
| Original Blend, black | Small 10 oz | 5 |
| Frozen Lemonade, classic | Small 10 oz | 200 |
| Food | Calories |
|---|---|
| Hash Brown | 120 |
| Chicken Noodle Soup, regular | 140 |
| Sugar Loop Donut | 200 |
| Egg White and Turkey Sausage Sandwich | 250 |
| Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich | 270 |
Black coffee in its forms is effectively calorie free, which is why the cheapest drink on the menu is also the lightest. On the food side, the soup and the hash brown are the low end, and the lightest full breakfast sandwich is the egg white and turkey sausage build at about 250 calories.
The heavy end, and sodium
At the other end of the menu: a large flavoured Iced Capp reaches about 700 calories, the loaded bowls and wraps sit between 540 and 690, and a dozen donuts is a group purchase for a reason. Sodium is where breakfast surprises people. One listing’s nutrition table puts the Farmer’s Breakfast Sandwich at 1,510 milligrams of sodium, and some sausage breakfast sandwich builds run above 1,000 milligrams, against a daily reference intake of 2,300 milligrams. One breakfast sandwich can be close to half a day’s sodium before the coffee is counted.
Allergens: read this before relying on any menu
The baked goods case runs on wheat, milk, egg and soy; almost every donut, muffin, bagel and cookie contains some combination of them. Some items contain peanuts or tree nuts, the candy topped Dream products among them, and everything is prepared in kitchens and on equipment that handle all of the major allergens, so cross-contact is a real possibility even in an item whose recipe looks safe. Fryers and toasters are shared. Tim Hortons publishes its own allergen and nutrition guide on the official Tim Hortons site, and restaurants hold the current information in store.
If you or your child has an allergy, that official guide and the staff in the restaurant are the sources to decide with, not this page and not any menu site. Recipes change without the listings catching up, and an allergen call made on stale information is the one kind of error this site refuses to risk. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
Frequently asked questions
How much caffeine is in a medium Tim Hortons coffee?
Nobody official says. Tim Hortons does not publish caffeine figures, and third-party estimates for the same cup disagree widely. Any site giving you one exact number is presenting an estimate as a fact.
What is the lowest calorie drink at Tim Hortons?
Black coffee in any form: an unsweetened cold brew or a black iced coffee sits at roughly zero to five calories, and a small black Original Blend is about five.
How much sugar is in a medium Iced Capp?
About 49 grams in the original, which is most of a day’s added sugar in one cup. The frozen menu is dessert, and the Frozen Drinks page prices the whole line.
Where is the official allergen information?
On the official Tim Hortons site and in the restaurant. Use those for any allergy decision. This page summarises the general picture only.
Are Tim Hortons donuts nut free?
No. Some donuts and cookies contain peanuts or tree nuts, and all of them are made around shared equipment that handles nuts. Check the official allergen guide for the specific item.
