Donuts

This is an independent informational guide, not affiliated with Tim Hortons. Prices are typical ranges and vary by location and province. Tax is excluded and delivery app prices differ. Check the official Tim Hortons menu or app before ordering.

Prices last checked: October 2026. Prices below are typical Canadian ranges in Canadian dollars, before tax.

Donuts are half the reason Tim Hortons exists, and the case at the counter still works the way it always has: the classic donuts share one price, the filled rings and seasonal specials sit a step above, and the Dream Donuts sit at the top. This page lists every donut currently sold in Canada with its price and calories, plus the box prices for a half dozen and a dozen. For the bite-size version, see the Timbits page.

Classic donut prices

Every classic donut is priced in the same band across Canada. Individual restaurants land at different points inside the range, which is why one store sells a Honey Dip for $1.59 and another charges $2.09. Calories below are from the official nutrition guide figures, and on these the published sources agree exactly.

Specialty and Dream Donut prices

Filled rings, limited-time collaborations and the Dream Donut range carry a premium over the classics. Dream Donuts are the larger, filled and topped line that Tim Hortons prices as its premium tier.

DonutPrice (single)Calories
Chocolate Marshmallow Filled Ring$1.99350
Spiced Vanilla Filled Ring$1.99–$2.39320
Biscoff Boston Cream (limited time)$2.39310
Canada Celebration Donut$2.39290
Dream Donut with Nutella$2.49300
Caramilk Filled Ring Dream Donut$2.49360
Caramel Brownie Filled Ring Dream Donut$2.49410

Limited-time donuts rotate through the year and leave the menu without much warning. When a seasonal donut is on, it also appears on the Seasonal and Limited-Time Items page with its dates, so nothing here is left advertising a donut you can no longer buy.

Box prices: half dozen and dozen

BoxPriceWorks out to
6 assorted donuts$7.79–$9.39About $1.30–$1.57 each
12 assorted donuts$13.99–$17.39About $1.17–$1.45 each

The box is always better value than buying singles. A dozen assorted works out to roughly $1.17 to $1.45 per donut against up to $2.09 for a single classic, so a full box can cost close to half the per-donut price of buying them one at a time. Boxes are assorted by default: the store fills them with a mix, and most locations will let you name the donuts you want if you ask before they start packing.

How donut pricing works at Tim Hortons

There is no national donut price list. Each restaurant sets its own prices inside the brand’s structure, which is why this page publishes ranges instead of a single figure. The structure itself is consistent everywhere: classics in one band, filled and specialty donuts above it, Dream Donuts at the top, and boxes priced to undercut the singles. Delivery apps add their own markup on top, so a donut that costs $1.59 in store can appear noticeably higher in an app. The Baked Goods page covers the muffins, bagels and cookies that share the same display case.

The most ordered donuts

The Boston Cream is the perennial favourite, a yeast donut filled with custard style cream and topped with chocolate. The Honey Dip is one of the lightest of the classics and a case staple from the chain’s early days. The Apple Fritter is the biggest donut on the standard menu by calories among the fruit options, and the Honey Cruller, with its ridged, airy centre, is the one most likely to sell out by mid-morning. Two long-running favourites, the Dutchie and the Walnut Crunch, are no longer on the regular menu, whatever older price lists still show them.

A short history of the donut case

Tim Hortons opened its first store in Hamilton, Ontario in 1964, and the original offer was simple: coffee and donuts. The donut case has been at the centre of the store ever since, even as the menu around it grew into breakfast, lunch and frozen drinks. That history is why the classic range still matters so much to the chain, and why favourites that leave the case, like the Dutchie and the Walnut Crunch, are still asked for years later.

When to buy: freshness and sellouts

Donuts are baked in store through the day at most locations, and the fullest case is usually the morning one. Filled donuts and crullers tend to go first, so a late afternoon visit often means a case heavy on the glazed and old fashioned end of the range. If you need a specific donut for a specific time, the practical move is the box: order a half dozen or dozen and name the donuts, rather than hoping singles are still there when you arrive.

Yeast, cake and cruller: the three donut families

Almost every donut in the case belongs to one of three families, and the family explains both the texture and the calories. Yeast donuts, like the Honey Dip, Boston Cream and the dips, are raised and airy, which is why they sit at the lighter end of the calorie range despite their size. Cake donuts, like the Old Fashioned and Sour Cream Glazed, are denser, hold more fat from frying, and run higher in calories for the same size. Crullers are the ridged, twisted style, light in the middle and crisp outside, with the Chocolate Cruller and Chocolate Toasted Coconut at the top of the calorie table at about 360. When you are choosing by calories rather than taste, the family tells you more than the flavour name does.

A classic donut costs $1.59 to $2.09 depending on the location. Filled and specialty donuts run $1.99 to $2.39, and Dream Donuts are about $2.49.

How much is a dozen donuts at Tim Hortons?

A box of 12 assorted donuts typically costs $13.99 to $17.39 before tax. A half dozen of 6 runs $7.79 to $9.39. Both work out cheaper per donut than buying singles.

What is the lowest calorie donut at Tim Hortons?

Why is the same donut a different price at another store?

Tim Hortons restaurants are individually operated and set their own prices, so the same donut can differ by up to about 50 cents between locations. That is exactly why this site publishes ranges, and why the official app price for your own store is the final word.

The favourite of the case has its own page: Boston Cream Donut, with its price, full nutrition and the limited Biscoff version.

Two more case staples have their own pages: the Honey Dip Donut, including the calorie figure other sites get wrong, and the Chocolate Glazed Donut.
