Hot chocolate is the caffeine-free corner of the hot menu, the drink for kids, for evenings, and for anyone who has had enough coffee for one day, which at Tim Hortons is a real category of person. It is priced below the coffees it sits beside and it comes in two versions, regular and white, at identical prices. This page prices both across all four sizes.

Every listing agrees on this ladder, which makes it one of the most settled on the menu. The white version costs the same and runs about 30 to 70 calories higher at each size. Watch the top of the ladder: an extra large white hot chocolate at 570 calories matches the extra large French Vanilla as the richest hot drink on the standard menu, which is a lot for a drink people order as the light option.

The seasonal versions

From November the hot chocolate gets its annual partners: the Candy Cane Hot Chocolate and the Candy Cane White Hot Chocolate in the holiday line. Tim Hortons names them in its holiday announcement and publishes no individual prices for them, so they are tracked without prices on the Seasonal and Limited-Time Items page. When a listing elsewhere shows you a candy cane price, it is not working from a published figure.

Hot chocolate for kids

The small, at $1.99 to $2.39 and 220 calories, is the standard kids order in winter, and it is the hot drink the Kids Menu page builds around, alongside the bottled milks and juices. There is no kids size and no kids price; the small is simply the smallest cup on the board, since the listings do not price hot chocolate in the 8 ounce extra small.
