Checked: October 2026. Start with the honest answer: Tim Hortons does not publish a national timetable. There are roughly 4,000 restaurants in Canada, most of them owner-operated, and each one sets its own hours. The only hours Tim Hortons publishes are per store, in its official store locator, with dine-in and drive-thru listed separately. This page sets out the patterns those official store pages actually show, so you know what is usual, what varies, and how to get the exact answer for your store.
What real store hours look like
These examples come straight from official Tim Hortons store pages checked for this guide. Same chain, same week, very different clocks:

In one count of Canadian store listings, the single most common schedule was 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM, and even that covered only about a quarter of stores. Openings cluster at 5, 6 and 7 in the morning and closings between 8 and 11 at night, but the spread around those clusters is wide. Any website that gives you one opening time for the whole chain is smoothing over the part that matters.
24-hour locations
They are real. Estimates from store-listing data put them at somewhere around one in ten to one in seven Canadian locations, concentrated where overnight demand exists: highway service centres, airports, hospitals and busy urban drive-thrus. There is no official count and no official list. A 24-hour store shows 12:00 AM to 11:59 PM on its locator page, and the drive-thru is usually the part that runs all night even where the dining room does not.
Dine-in and drive-thru hours are separate
The Reserve Mines example above is the one to remember: the dining room there closes at 6:00 PM while the drive-thru runs to 8:00 PM, and it opens two hours earlier as well. The locator lists the two separately for every store, and checking only one of them is how people end up in front of a locked door holding a coffee order. Stores inside malls, airports, hospitals, campuses and office buildings follow the host building’s hours, which is why those locations break every pattern on this page.
Holiday hours
Holiday hours are set per restaurant too, and there is no official holiday schedule. The picture below is the consistent one across Canadian sources for 2026: the direction is reliable, the exact clock times are not, so treat anything more precise with suspicion and check your store for the day itself.

One warning about holiday tables online: a number of them are American templates with Canadian branding. If a table tells you Tim Hortons closes for Thanksgiving in late November, or lists US holidays like Presidents’ Day, close the tab. Canadian Thanksgiving is the second Monday of October, and Canadian stores are open for it.
How to check your store’s hours
The official route takes under a minute. On the web, the official store locator shows each store’s address, phone number and separate dine-in and drive-thru hours for all seven days. In the app, open the Restaurant Locator tile and use the Nearby tab or the map. For a holiday, a phone call is the surest check of all: posted hours are at their least reliable on the days everyone is asking about, and the store’s number is right there on its locator page.

What time does Tim Hortons open?
There is no single time. Most standalone stores open at 5:00 or 6:00 AM, 24-hour locations never close, and mall, office and campus locations open with their buildings, sometimes as late as 9:30 AM. Your store’s time is on its official locator page.
Is Tim Hortons open 24 hours?
Some locations are, roughly one in ten to one in seven by store-listing estimates, mostly at highway stops, airports, hospitals and busy urban drive-thrus. Most locations are not: a typical store closes between 10:00 and 11:00 PM.
Is Tim Hortons open on Christmas Day?
Mostly no. Christmas Day is the one day of the year when closures are widespread. There is no chain-wide closure rule, and some locations, especially in airports, hospitals and highway plazas, do open, usually on reduced hours. Check your store before counting on it.
Does the drive-thru stay open later than the restaurant?
Often, yes. Dine-in and drive-thru hours are set and listed separately, and at many stores the drive-thru opens earlier and closes later. The locator shows both.
