The Iced Capp is the drink Tim Hortons is known for in summer: coffee blended with ice and a cream base into a thick slush, on the menu since 1999 and still the best selling frozen drink in the country. It is not an iced coffee and it is not a milkshake. It sits in its own category, which is exactly what one of the menu listings says when it recommends it to first timers. This page covers the original: what it costs in each size, what is in it, and how to order it lighter.
Iced Capp prices
| Size | Price | Calories | Sugar |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small, 10 oz | $3.29–$3.99 | 260 | 38 g |
| Medium, 14 oz | $3.79–$4.49 | 330 | 49 g |
| Large, 20 oz | $4.29–$4.99 | 430 | 64 g |
The original is the cheapest and the lightest Iced Capp by a wide margin. The flavoured versions, mocha, vanilla, caramel and the rest, sit about 70 cents higher at each size and add roughly 170 to 250 calories at the same size. The full flavour ladder is priced on the Frozen Drinks page.
What is in an Iced Capp
Coffee, ice and a cream base, blended. Cream is the standard build. The useful thing most people never hear is that the milk build is a free customisation: an Iced Capp can be made with cream, with milk, or with chocolate milk, and asking for milk instead of cream lowers the calories without changing the price. A medium made the standard way lists at 330 calories, 13 grams of fat, 49 grams of sugar and about 105 milligrams of sodium in the published nutrition figures.
One thing no listing settles: whipped topping. No current Canadian menu listing we check mentions it at all, included, optional or otherwise, so this page makes no claim about it. If your store tops yours, that is a store habit, not a published part of the drink.
How to order it lighter
There is no Light Iced Capp on the current listings, whatever older menus and third-party sites show. The lighter order is a build, not an item: ask for milk instead of cream. Beyond that, size is the lever. A small original at 260 calories and 38 grams of sugar is a different drink, nutritionally, from a large flavoured one at 700 calories. First timers are usually advised to start with a small original anyway. It is richer than it looks, and the small is enough to know whether it is your drink.
Iced Capp or iced coffee?
An iced coffee is brewed coffee poured over ice, priced from about $2.19, and a black one has no calories at all. An Iced Capp is blended, sweetened and cream based, and costs about a dollar more at the same size. They share a name root and nothing else. The still cold drinks are all priced on the Cold Coffee and Iced Drinks page.
Frequently asked questions
How much is a medium Iced Capp?
Between $3.79 and $4.49 depending on location, at 330 calories and about 49 grams of sugar. A medium is the size most people order.
Does an Iced Capp have caffeine?
Yes, it is a coffee drink. Tim Hortons publishes no caffeine figures; third-party estimates put a medium at roughly 90 to 120 milligrams. Treat that as an estimate, as the Nutrition and Allergens page explains.
Can you get an Iced Capp with milk instead of cream?
Yes. Cream is standard, but milk or chocolate milk can be used instead at no change in price, and the milk build is lower in calories.
Is there a Light Iced Capp?
Not on any current Canadian listing we check. The lighter route is the milk build described above, or a smaller size.
